I feel lucky enough to have been able to watch this show grow from its early beginnings to the spectacular event that it now is. Vintage Nostalgia has become a legend of an event in its own right. You arrive at Stockton Park, which is thoughtfully section off into vintage camping, general camping and the event arena its self, of which is a fantastic mix of good quality stalls, food and drink stands and entertainment areas. It is only once people arrive and get settled that the true glamour of this show unfolds. The effort that people go to, to embrace and embody the shows ethos is incredible. The outfits, the hair not to mention the cars is astounding. The organisers have successfully handpicked a collection of businesses that offer the visitors a truly unique experience. For example you can have your hair done by The Vintage Hair Lounge, they run appointments throughout both days of the show but be warned book early! The stands range from clothing, tools, car spares, toys and homewares. The entertainment is a vast collection of small performing groups, acoustic solos through to children’s entertainment.
The first ever show was back in 2012 and it was a collection of period caravans, station and traction engines, old Volkswagens and a bar in an airstream caravan and boy has it come a long way since then! But the real beauty of this show lies in the fact that it still retains that intimacy and personal edge whilst offering a true Glamping experience. The night time entertainment is fantastic, the selection of food stands is of great quality and well varied not forgetting to mention the Ringwood Brewery bar! If you are after a weekend that is interesting and a little different with a fantastic atmosphere this is it. Even as a day visitor you wouldn’t be disappointed, it’s truly a visual feast!
